Terry Dix, or Terry Daquan as he prefers, is a multifaceted filmmaker with a passion for creating relatable art, particularly for underrepresented communities. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in film production, specializing in directing, his skill set encompasses the entire filmmaking process. Proficient in editing, sound design, fundraising, and directing, Terry is adept at bringing out the best in actors while crafting diverse narratives.
His journey began at the Los Angeles Film School, where he honed his craft before embarking on a master’s degree in entertainment business at Full Sail University. Prior to his academic pursuits, Terry served in the United States Navy, gaining invaluable experiences and inspiration for his storytelling. Despite working in fast food during high school, he graduated with honors and embarked on a journey that would take him around the world, gathering script ideas and life experiences.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Terry balances his studies with work as and after school elementary sports coach, stagehand, AVT, and video engineer on weekends, all in service of his production company DVO. With ambitions to lead his own company, Terry’s goal is to provide a platform for diverse voices and stories in the film industry, inspiring others to dream big and recognize their importance in the world of cinema!
